Introducing

LHiadies and Gentlemen, DJ-Donshanto (also : DJ-DS) (Almelo, 23-04-1986) is the artistname of Shanto, a Dutch DJ who spends his time spinning Black-music. He dayly receives thousands of visitors on his website from over more than 147 countries (By now maybe even more !)

 

Biography

Music has always been the great love of Donshanto. At young age he listened to music from Biggie, Tupac, Puff Daddy (AKA P. Diddy), MJ and many other top artists. From that moment it was also his passion to mix music and spin it on the turntables. In the period inbetween 2002-2004 Shanto was listening to new RnB & Hiphop.

At the start of 2002 Shanto already had the ambition to go mixing music. Only he realised that he didn't have the ability. He bought some cd's and a computer program, and then went on working hard. But it didn't work completely. The he decides to go working together with many dj(s. After that his remixes were released on the internet. His notorioucity grew after that in the black-music-scene.

In 2004 Shanto was very busy on his website. He tried to remix as much new released-tracks as possible to put them on his site. He Sent the tracks to a a personal friend/artist (whom he had made remixes for before) , famous DJ's, and other friends. This he kept doing for quite some time, untill now. His website turned out to be a big success; Thousands of downloads later, his tracks are being promoted by visitors. In 2005, when he became 19,friends pursuaded him to buy turntables and to really start learning how to be a DJ.
And so he did. He practiced for hours and hours at home and soon he stood behind the DJ-booth of his brother's bar and became DJ at many parties such as birthdayparties. Through his many connections online and in real life, he soon made a big name for himself.

Shanto has remixed tracks with many big Dj's from the US, Germany and France, which were put online afterwards. He is now producing mixtapes and is currently remixing for artists.

Shanto has been working on his website ever since 2005. Since 2006 his website became official and has proven to be a big success over the years. By dropping his name wherever he can, online, irl and on his tracks, he is working very hard to get more and more notorious. "This is very important to make it in the business", he says. "Being heard of, making a name and making people recognize your name. That's what it's all about."

 

 

Musical Style

The Music of Shanto contains many elements. In general it is characterised by RnB and HipHop (fast rhythm). He knows how to handle himself within the blackmusic-scene. It sounds quite fast, very partylike and full of 'bouncing'. The tracks on his DJ repertoire are often directly received from artists, with the release date just a few days away, thus very exclusively, with the aim of in-club promotion for the artists themselves. Shanto knows perfectly how to mix one of these new tracks with a record from his normal reportoire.
